The fall is here and we’ve just opened our new bike shop, in time for our first winter. Color is coming into the leaves and there is a chill in the air, a bite that will make many cyclists choose alternative methods of transportation.
The air isn’t biting too hard yet so there’s still time. But when it does... watch out.
Still, we’re looking forward to finding out what a winter is like. Our shop focuses on rebuilds more than many shops, so maybe we can find people who want to take advantage of that during the months when their bikes are parked.
Beyond cycling, and the business of running a shop, though, fall is a time of change in general and I welcome it. It is actually beautiful to allow it to happen. The fact is that change happens whether you resist it or not so you might as well use its momentum to hurl yourself in positive directions, and that is what we will be looking to do.
Some bookkeeping:
* We may change the hours a bit for the fall and winter season
* We also may be workshopping chili recipes for a contest in the winter, in which case samples may be available on certain days
* Foster eastbound in front of the shop is crazy, be careful, please
* We will be putting up a sign at some point, we do know we need one
And finally I want to take a second to thank the members of the North Park/Albany Park community. You’ve been so supportive so far and it makes us so glad we chose this corner of the city to open our doors.

New Year

It's been awhile since I have been able to post anything here. Brian and I are looking forward to the 2019 bike season. This year we hope to find a storefront and once we do, we hope you'll come visit us!

In the meantime, check out some of our past builds:

New Photos of Natalia the Nishiki Century

Yep, Natalia is still here. We recently found a new wall to photograph against and it really brings out the best in Natalia's natural beauty. Hopefully these photos will pique someone's interest to take this lovely bike home.
Email us at friends@cogcycleschicago.com to come check out this bike. We can always arrange custom builds if this one isn't the right fit.
